Kaiako | Bridge Street Kindergarten

Part-time (0.8, 4 days) | Fixed Term

We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and dedicated kaiako to join our team at Bridge Street Kindergarten. Whether you’re an experienced or beginning teacher, we want someone who is highly motivated, reliable, and genuinely committed to fostering the learning and growth of tamariki.

At Bridge Street Kindergarten we cater for tamariki aged 6 months-6 years between the hours of 7.30am-5.15pm.

The Successful Applicant Will:

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

• Be a passionate kaiako dedicated to supporting tamariki as confident, competent lifelong learners.

• Engage in and contribute to a curriculum where tamariki experience, learn about, and connect with Te Reo Māori and Te Ao Māori.

• Show understanding of and confidence in the use of Te Reo Māori, and actively integrate Te Ao Māori into the learning environment, with a commitment to continually growing their capability.

• Provide an environment that embraces and celebrates the rich languages and cultures of our whānau.

• Foster positive, inclusive relationships that create a strong sense of belonging.

• Demonstrate strong initiative, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills.

• Work collaboratively as a team player, contributing positively to the kindergarten community.
