Our Enviroschools programme

Nelson Tasman Kindergartens is proud to be a regional partner of Enviroschools — a nationwide, action-based programme that empowers tamariki to explore, understand, and care for their environment.

Over 950 early childhood centres and schools across Aotearoa are part of this unique sustainability journey. At its heart, Enviroschools nurtures a deep connection between tamariki and the natural world. Through hands-on exploration, discovery, and creativity, children build knowledge, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging within their environment and wider community.

By engaging with the world around them, tamariki are encouraged to think about the kind of place they want to live in — and to take meaningful steps to shape a more sustainable, caring future for their kindergarten, their community, and beyond.
