Vision, Mission & Values

Our Vision

We aim to be the leading provider of early childhood education in the Nelson Tasman region — delivering excellence and equity for every child, every day.

Our Mission

To give children the best possible start in life by providing high-quality early learning that is inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in strong relationships between tamariki, whānau and kaiako.

Our Values

At the heart of our work are the values that shape who we are and how we teach.

We are committed to:

  • Excellence in teaching through 100% registered teachers, ongoing professional learning, and reflective practice

  • Partnership and belonging through strong relationships with children and whānau

  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the dual heritage of Aotearoa, lived through rangatiratanga, kaitiakitanga, and manaakitanga

  • Inclusion and equity for all tamariki, with no barriers to participation

  • Sustainability for the protection and preservation of our environment

  • Children’s rights as defined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

  • Community — building connections and sharing knowledge across our network

  • Strong leadership and governance that supports our vision, teachers and teams

“Competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.”
