Casual Teacher Aide | Golden Bay

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring casual Teacher Aide who has a genuine passion for working with young children. Our ideal applicant will relate well to tamariki and whānau, enjoy being part of a team, and like working in a supportive, collaborative environment. An understanding of Te Whāriki and a willingness to be part of a bicultural learning environment is important to us.

As a casual Teacher Aide, you will work alongside our teaching teams to:

• Support the supervision and care of tamariki throughout the day

• Assist with the teaching and learning programme

• Encourage and support children’s play and learning experiences

• Help with tidy-up and general day to day tasks within the kindergarten

• Provide cover for breaks and non-contact/release time for teaching staff

• Confidence in te reo Māori would be an advantage

This is a casual position requiring the person to step in as needed, it may result in fixed term teacher aide opportunities.
